In the afternoon of October 9, 2020, the Institute of Brain Science and Rehabilitation (hereinafter referred to as "Brain Institute") invited Prof. GAO Tianming and 10 other more scientific researchers to discuss how to solve the problems encountered in scientific research and enhance the capacity of scientific research in the IBRR. The symposium was hosted by Prof. CHEN Qi, vice president of the IBRR.

   Prof. WENG Xuchu, president of the IBRR expressed his warm welcome to GAO Tianming's visit. At the symposium, the core scientific researchers made a brief report on their own research topicsom in a harmonious atmosphere. Prof. GAO Tianming exchanged his research experience with the researchers and provided them with valuable guidance to help them achieve better results.

   GAO Tianming, is the former Vice President, Professor and PhD Supervisor of Southern Medical University, and the Yangtze River Scholar of the Ministry of Education. He is the vice president of Chinese Society of Neuroscience, executive director of Chinese Physiological Society, and associate editor of Neurosci Bull. He has discovered a new mechanism for the onset of depression - decreased ATP releasing from glial cells, and ATP has a rapid antidepressant effect, which provides a novel method for antidepressant treatment.
