In the afternoon of September 26, 2020, a scientific symposium between the Institute of Brain Science and Rehabilitation Medicine of South China Normal University (hereinafter referred to as "IBRR") and Shenzhen Longhua Central Hospital (hereinafter referred to as "Central Hospital") were held at Shenzhen Longhua District Central Hospital. All members of the leadership team and core backbone of scientific research from the IBRR, vice president of Shenzhen Longhua District Central Hospital HUANG Junfang with directors of all relevant departments, clinical research backbone, etc. from Central Hospital attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by HUANG Junfang.

At the beginning of the meeting, HUANG Junfang introduced the Central Hospital, which is a Grade III comprehensive public hospital of the district that integrates medical treatment, prevention, health care, scientific research and teaching. At the same time, in order to improve the hospital's scientific research level and the ability to transform the results, a central laboratory was established, aiming to combine basic medical research with clinical diagnosis and treatment. In order to further promote mutual understanding between the two sides, the leaders of the general medicine, rehabilitation medicine, neurology, medical imaging center and medical oncology departments of the central hospital introduced the relevant departments one after another.

Subsequently, Vice President Prof. ZENG Lizhang from the IBRR introduced the IBRR in terms of faculty structure, construction of scientific research platform, personnel training and scientific research achievements. Vice President Prof. CHEN Qi and core scientists from IBRR introduced their personal research areas to other experts. Since its establishment in 2015, the IBRR has achieved initial results in scientific research, talent training, social services, and industry-university-research cooperation, laid a good disciplinary foundation for the two sides to carry out substantive cooperation.

   Under the guidance of the Central Hospital, all participants of the IBRR visited the clinical departments and central laboratory. Finally, the two sides had a free speech discussion and enthusiastic interaction on the preliminary intention of scientific research cooperation, agreed that the cooperation between the IBRR and the Central Hospital is conducive to make full use of the clinical advantages of the hospital and the disciplinary advantages of universities, to achieve complementary advantages, and hoped that in the future both sides will give full play to their own advantages, enhance the level of academic scientific research, and jointly promote the two sides in the field of brain science research in depth cooperation, and jointly serve the major needs of the country!
