In the evening of September 24, 2020, in the first conference room of Guangdong 999 Brain Hospital, a meeting was held between the South China Normal University Institute of Brain Science and Rehabilitation (hereinafter referred to as "IBRR") and Guangdong 999 Brain Hospital, in which all the leading members of the two sides, core scientific research backbone, department directors, etc. participated. The meeting was chaired by CAI Linbo, Secretary of Party Committee of Guangdong 999 Brain Hospital.

    At the meeting, Vice President of China Resources Medical Holdings Limited WU Xinchun, President of IBRR WENG Xuchu, and President of Guangdong 999 Brain Hospital ZHU Dan addressed the meeting. WU pointed out that through the establishment of a cooperative relationship between Guangdong 999 Brain Hospital and the IBRR, gives full play to the profound clinical experience and dynamic team advantage of Guangdong 999 Brain Hospital, highly integrates with the disciplinary base of the IBRR, and continues to develop technological innovation in cross-cutting areas, a steady stream of cross-disciplinary talent training, will achieve more substantial achievements, and contribute to the promotion of national brain science development. ZHU said that the close cooperation between the two units over a long period of time has provided favorable conditions for later development, and he hoped that both sides would continue to strengthen communication and exchange, promote the transformation of scientific research results, and further promote the improvement of medical services.

    Vice President of IBRR ZENG Lizhang reported on the strategic results of the long-standing cooperation between the two units. Since the strategic cooperation between the two sides in 2017, the IBRR and Guangdong 999 Brain Hospital have actively carried out scientific research and innovation cooperation, promoted the complementary advantages of both sides, guided by "clinical medicine support scientific research, scientific research services clinical medicine" to jointly apply national and local government scientific research projects, joined hands to carry out basic and clinical research. The establishment of a joint postgraduate training base and an innovative talent training model has achieved significant initial results.

   Subsequently, the heads of various departments of Guangdong 999 Brain Hospital gave a brief introduction to the epilepsy center, tumor treatment department, imaging department and pathology department and other related departments. Prof. CHEN Qi, vice president of the IBRR, and the core researchers who attended the meeting had a heated discussion on the mechanism and ways of possible in-depth cooperation between the two sides, deepening the level of multi-dimensional cooperation to solve major scientific problems and social development needs, expecting to bring new breakthroughs in technological innovation in the field of brain science.
