IBRR holds fire safety training session

According to the overall plan of the university, in order to strengthen the awareness of fire safety for the new students of the grade 2020 and improve their fire safety emergency response ability, Fire safety training lectures were held on September 11, 2020 (Friday) at 15:00 p.m., the Institute for Brain Research and Rehabilitation (hereinafter referred to as "IBRR"), at Room 203, North Building (the building where the Brain Imaging Center is located). Instructor JIN Shengang, Director of Education and Training Department of Guangdong Fire Safety Emergency Management Service Center, was invited as the guest speaker, who has been engaged in fire safety for more than 10 years and has solid fire safety knowledge and rich working experience. The participants of this training were XIANG Jie, the office director of the Brain Institute, HE Maobing, the deputy director, ZHANG Cun, the counselor, and all the new students of the grade 2020. The meeting was hosted by HE Maobing.

During the training, Instructor JIN used videos and other materials to introduce the causes and consequences of fire, emergency first aid and escape skills, as well as the safe management and use of hazardous chemicals in the laboratory to students in detail. For example, how to deal with emergency situations, how to extinguish fires, and how to use some fire fighting equipment, including various types of fire extinguishers, gas masks, escape hammers and other equipment, through the use of combat videos and other materials to introduce students in detail the attention to the use of fire fighting equipment.

Finally, under the leadership of the teachers and Instructor JIN, the students went outdoors for a live drill where the teacher and students learned and experienced firsthand how to use gas masks and dry powder fire extinguishers.

   During the training, the instructor used easy-to-understand teaching language to popularize fire safety knowledge to the students, with lively illustrations and humor, and constantly strengthened the awareness of "safety is no small matter", safety responsibility is important and safety work is prevention. The students also actively spoke, the atmosphere was lively. It is believed that through this training, the students can master some first aid methods and stay calm. This training has a positive effect on our teachers and students to strengthen their safety awareness, master firefighting skills and improve their self-rescue ability.
